Nyota FC announces a new head coach

FKF Division one side Nyota FC have signed a new deal with Mohammed Ali alias Kidu as their new tactician for an undisclosed period of time. This happens a few weeks after the exit of the former Nzoia Sugar FC coach Ibrahim Shikanda. The former Kenyan international is currently serving as the assistant coach to Patrick Odhiambo at Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club.

Kidu joins the Mumias-based football club from Kona Rangers, whose future remains unclear following their relegation to the fourth tier. The new tactician will be assisted by Reuben Wanyonyi, while Paul Wesonga will serve as the keeper’s trainer.

“Kidu is our new head coach, he replaces Shikanda. We took time to settle on a new coach, and in him, we have brought on board a man who understands the game too well. He is not a high-profile coach but a very thorough one. Last season, he led the Kona Rangers to the NSL before the season was nullified. We want him to implement his philosophy here as well.” said the club CEO Fred Harrison Wesonga during Kidu’s arrival.

Nyota FC is currently holding the 6th position in the third-tier league with 16 points. Kidu’s first task will be against Darajani Gogo FC in an FKF Cup match at Mumias Sports Complex this Saturday.
