Wazito FC appoints a New Tactician

Football Kenya Federation premier league side Wazito FC has appointed Charles Odera as their new head coach. The Ex Kenyan international joins the Muhoroni-based club from APS Bomet after the club was relegated for failing to attend three consecutive NSL matches.

Odera takes the role that was later held by Jeffers Odongo who left Wazito to Kakamega Homeboyz Football club one week ago.In the latest changes the team also acquired the efforts of Ugandan tactician Paul Nkata who will serve as the Technical director while Ibrahim Ateng and Samuel Odhiambo will take the roles of Assistant coach and Goalkeepers coach respectively.

“Odera is our new head coach, he will officially take over as from Monday.He will be assisted by Ibrahim Ateng and Samuel Odhiambo as Moses Nyalik remains the Team Manager.”Moses Adagala the club chairman said.

In September last year, the team changed its ownership from Dubai-based businessman Ricardo Badoer to Kisumu tycoon Engineer Joel Odongo thus getting some breath of fresh air despite earlier fears that they were not going to take part in the local top-flight.

The club chairman Moses Adagala has shown a lot of trust to the former Chemilil and Muhoroni Youth coach as the person who will save the club from relegation zone. “He’s a good coach. He did a good job with APS Bomet and ended up finishing the season in the top position. I know him at a personal level, and I am confident that we will perform well; we will give him all the necessary support” said Adagala.

Currently Wazito are holding 16th position on the log with 10 points after playing 14 matches.
